Travel Beauty “Quick Fix” Essentials

travel beauty quick fix essentials

From flight to boat to train, these are my quick-fix travel beauty essentials to always keep you looking glossy, groomed and radiant.

travel beauty quick fix essentials

1 – A Skin Saving Moisturiser

It is important when travelling to keep parched skin hydrated, especially after the beach, swimming, or in cold climates. I often find that the cream I use at home doesn’t work for me travelling, so I normally switch it out for a gel or serum.

I particularly love Clinique Moisture Surge (especially the mini travel size which you often get with offers!) It is perfect for a quick fix, and great for under or over makeup.

2 – A Deep Cleansing Mask

I like making my own masks when travelling as there just isn’t room in a backpack to take lots of products. The only one I do take however is Sisley Radient Glow Express Mask. It is the perfect travel beauty product for a quick pick me up – you simply apply and rinse off after three minutes for a gorgeous glow. You know that grey, tried look from a long haul flight? This gets rid of it instantly. It’s expensive, but worth the splurge – I’ve had mine for so long now.

3 – A Perk-Me-Up Blusher

I don’t wear much make-up when I travel, but I like products that work wonders and make me look polished.  Firstly I always carry a blusher, and my favourite is Nars blush in Orgasm which gives a really healthy glow.

4 – A Multi-Tasking Illuminator

The best kinds of travel beauty products are multi-taskers, and Nars The Multiple shimmer stick in South Beach in the best. I use it as a highligher, lip colour, eye shadow and blush.

5 – A Good Bronzer

My absolute secret weapon however is the Body Shop Bronzer in Warm Glow. When swept over the face it gives a healthy, tanned glow, and the impression of a night well slept under the stars!

6 – A Brow Kit

Groomed brows work wonders for the face and make you look polished even without wearing any other make up. One of my travel beauty secrets is this little Brow Zings kit from Benefit. I used to always use a pencil, but find this little compact, complete with mirror, teeny tweezers, two brushes, a powder and thick wax, is my brows sorted in one compact!

7 – A Great Lip Balm

I always make sure I have lots of lip balm with me. I like an SPF balm for the beach, and then a really nourishing balm for night time. Currently I love this beeswax lip balm by british brand Our Tiny Bees. It’s totally natural – made with just honey, beeswax and almond oil, and smells delicious.

8 – A Mini Hand Cream

Hand cream is a must as my hands get so dry when travelling! I really hate the feel of lotion on my hands though, especially in the heat, so I like a good cream that melts into the skin quickly. I really like this French pharmacy staple hand creme by Manuphyl. It comes in these great teeny travel sizes and is really lightweight and absorbent. It is available online in the US here.

I also love Soap and Glory ‘Hand Food’ – also available in mini!

9 – Dry Shampoo

This wouldn’t be a travel beauty article without my absolute saviour – dry shampoo! I love the little spray bottles by Batiste – perfect for travelling.
